Sketching at Cafe Intime

On a dark and rainy november evening Urban Sketchers Copenhagen went to the small establishment Cafe Intime to draw. The event was a smashing success with many sketchers showing up drawing the customers and interior. All through the evening great retro style jazz was playing with various live singers.

Sketching at Bispebjerg Hospital

On saturday the 17. of june 2017 Urban Sketchers Copenhagen sketched around the area of Bispebjerg Hospital and the nearby church Grundtvigs Kirke. 

We all sat in front of the main entrance drawing the same buildings for a few hours. The building is very intricate with many small details, so it was a fun challenge!

Here are my drawings from the afternoon. The first 3 are from the hospital, while the 2 last are from the area around the church.

As I live 200 meters from the hospital I have been sketching around this area before, so here are 2 bonus sketches from inside the hospital area I did about a month ago:

Sketching at the Round Tower

On saturday the 10. of june 2017 Urban Sketchers Copenhagen sketched around the area of Nørreport in Copenhagen. 

¨We started on top of Runde tårn (the Round Tower - a famous landmark building in Copenhagen). The view is always great over the rooftops, and today the weather was warm and pleasant. 

Later we ventured down again to Pilestræde for some additional drawings of the busy street. 

After the meeting was over I bonus-sketched a nearby tree boxed in between the walls of surrounding buildings.

Sketching and exhibition on Frederiksberg

On sunday the 5. of june Urban Sketchers Copenhagen sketched around the area of Frederiksberg in Copenhagen. The area is recognized for its broad streets and fancy buildings and old fashioned apartments.

After an afternoon of sketching we made a nice exhibition at the cafe. You can see all our drawings here:  The exhibition is free and open to see in the cafes opening hours over the summer until sometime in July (2017). 'The adress is Cafe Cadeau, H C Ørstedsvej 28, Frederiksberg.

Here are my sketches and a few pics from the exhibition, showcasing all our sketches hanging on the walls. Thanks to everyone who participated and hope to see many visitors to the exhibition :)

  

Sketching at Bolsjefabrikken

On sunday  the 28. of May 2017 Urban Sketchers Copenhagen went to Bolsjefabrikken. It is a alternative cultural venue in Østerbro, Copenhagen. 

The place is crammed with colours and grafitti and the weather was sunny and warm. 

A great afternoon, thanks to everyone who participated!

Here are my sketches from the afternoon, the coloured are done with Derwent Oil Pastels, the grey with Derwent inktense. :)

Sketching at Bernstorff Park

On sunday  the 14. of May 2017 Urban Sketchers Copenhagen went to Bernstorff Park in Gentofte. 

It is a lovely green idyllic park and the weather was on its best behaviour. So a very enjoyable day!

Sketching at Konditaget Lüders

On sunday  the 30, april 2017 Urban Sketchers Copenhagen went to Konditaget Lüders to sketch. 

This is a big parking lot building still under construction, and on the roof there is a playground and various installations for gymnastics inclined people. For Urban Sketchers it was enough to climb the many stairs :D

The weather was beautiful with clear skies and a great view, but the wind was strong and cold. Still a fun experience!

Sketching at Bispebjerg Cemetery

On sunday  the 9, april 2017 Urban Sketchers Copenhagen went to Bispebjerg Cemetery to sketch. 

Normally this big cemetery is empty and tranquil, but for a few weeks each year the famous japanese cherry trees blossom, and people travel to see the trees (And take selfies)
