Sketching at Bispebjerg Hospital

On saturday the 17. of june 2017 Urban Sketchers Copenhagen sketched around the area of Bispebjerg Hospital and the nearby church Grundtvigs Kirke. 

We all sat in front of the main entrance drawing the same buildings for a few hours. The building is very intricate with many small details, so it was a fun challenge!

Here are my drawings from the afternoon. The first 3 are from the hospital, while the 2 last are from the area around the church.

As I live 200 meters from the hospital I have been sketching around this area before, so here are 2 bonus sketches from inside the hospital area I did about a month ago:

Sketching at the Round Tower

On saturday the 10. of june 2017 Urban Sketchers Copenhagen sketched around the area of Nørreport in Copenhagen. 

¨We started on top of Runde tårn (the Round Tower - a famous landmark building in Copenhagen). The view is always great over the rooftops, and today the weather was warm and pleasant. 

Later we ventured down again to Pilestræde for some additional drawings of the busy street. 

After the meeting was over I bonus-sketched a nearby tree boxed in between the walls of surrounding buildings. 

Here are my drawings from the day. Thanks to everyone who participated and I am looking forward to future meetings! It is always pleasant to sketch with you  :)

Sketching at Bernstorff Park

On sunday  the 14. of May 2017 Urban Sketchers Copenhagen went to Bernstorff Park in Gentofte. 

It is a lovely green idyllic park and the weather was on its best behaviour. So a very enjoyable day!

Sketching at Skuespilhuset

On saturday the 18, march 2017 Urban Sketchers Copenhagen went to Skuespilhuset. 

These are my drawings from the afternoon. 

The building has great windows with a fantastic view of the harbour and the opera house, so I drew that, as well as some staircases and a few people sitting around me :)

Sketching at Davids Samling

On saturday the 4, march 2017 Urban Sketchers Copenhagen went to The museum Davids Samling. 

These are my drawings from the afternoon. 

Starting with a quick sketch at the entrance door, then venturing inside the various collections.  

Some of the sketches are with Derwent Inktense coloured crayons, the last ones are with black markers (because the Islamic collection was kind of dark so it was getting hard to see the greys :) 

Finally we ended up with a beer further down Gothersgade! Thank you everyone for a productive, creative day!

Sketching at Glyptoteket 28.01.2017

On saturday the 28, january 2017 Urban Sketchers Copenhagen went to Glyptoteket. 

These are my drawings from the afternoon. 

Starting with a quick sketch outside in freezing cold, then proceeding inside to the 

(luckily warmer) palm tree garden and beyond. 

Finally we ended up with a beer in Jernbanecafeen to celebrate a productive, creative day!

The Urban Sketchers Copenhagen group had a great time on the 28. december 2016 sitting for a few hours in the cosy pub Jernbanecafeen sketching everyone and everything around us. Here are my drawings:

Sketching at Den Sorte Diamant

On a sunny Saturday on the 3. December 2016, a group of sketchers went to the Royal Library in Copenhagen, a marvelous architectural wonder of a building called The Black Diamond.
